YEREVAN. – Armenian National Congress (ANC) has no better presidential candidate than its leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan told Radio Liberty in response to the question how Ter-Petrosyan will be engaged into politics after refusing the MP mandate and whether he will run for the presidential elections next year.

“The most probable presidential candidate in the ANC is Levon Ter-Petrsoyan, and it is indisputable. Moreover, there is no better candidate to run for the President other than him,” Zurabyan said.

To note, the ANC leader in the Tuesday rally claimed he will reject the MP mandate but it does not necessarily mean he quits participating in the politics.

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has issued the preliminary results of parliamentary elections. Five parties and one political bloc will be represented in the 131-seat National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia: Republican Party of Armenia – 44.05% (663,066 votes), Prosperous Armenia Party – 30.20% (454,684 votes), Armenian National Congress – 7.10% (106,910 votes), Heritage Party – 5.79% (87,095 votes), ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party – 5.73% (86, 296 votes), Orinats Yerkir Party – 5.49% (82,690 votes).
