A consultation was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the possibility of introducing mechanisms for making donations to civil society organizations (CSOs), media, and political parties in Armenia through a universal declaration system was discussed.

In particular, it is proposed to introduce a new system of social allocations or expenses to CSOs, media, and political parties in Armenia by launching an income declaration system for individuals, the PM’s office informs.

It was noted that the introduction of the new system is expected to create new incentives for submitting declarations, promote the financial independence of CSOs and media in Armenia, and increase the accountability and transparency of their activities.

The importance of developing political institutional mechanisms through the introduction of the new system was emphasized.

Summing up the discussions, the premier emphasized that the goal of introducing this system is to enable people to support their preferred public, media or political organizations in Armenia, as well as to ensure transparency in funding. Also, Nikol Pashinyan instructed to finalize the respective draft based on the observations presented during the discussion.
