The European Union has expanded sanctions against Russia, adding nine individuals and four organizations to its restrictive lists. As EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated, the measures are linked to alleged "malicious cyber activity."

According to Kallas, the new restrictions were introduced "in response to malicious cyber activity" and apply to "Russian intelligence officers, private hackers, and private companies" which, according to Brussels, "assist Russia in destabilizing the EU, its member states, and foreign partners."

The sanctions include a ban on entry into ევროკავშირის countries, as well as the freezing of assets of individuals and legal entities if any are found within the EU.
