NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, where he will take part in events related to the upcoming launch of a crewed mission to the International Space Station. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development told Interfax-Kazakhstan.

The head of the U.S. space agency is expected to attend the farewell ceremony for the international crew that will depart for the ISS.

The launch of a Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the crewed Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft is scheduled for July 14. On board, Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina, as well as NASA astronaut Anil Menon, will travel to the International Space Station.

The backup crew includes Russian cosmonauts Konstantin Borisov and Dmitry Petelin, as well as American astronaut Denise Burnham.

The expedition is expected to last more than 260 days in orbit.
