US Central Command forces carried out another round of strikes on Iran in order to further weaken Iranian capabilities used to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

"The strikes are being carried out as American forces prepare to resume a naval blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas. The blockade takes effect at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time," the US military noted.

They added that more than 20 US Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft are operating in the Middle East.
