In the city of Bolzano (northern Italy), a local courthouse building dating back to the 1920s collapsed, ANSA reports.

About a quarter of the entire building collapsed; restoration and expansion work had recently been underway there.

Bolzano court president Francesca Bortolotti said that the collapse occurred because of load-bearing columns in the area where the reconstruction was taking place.

At the time of the collapse, three people were inside the building — cleaners; one of them suffered minor injuries.
