Armenia has created a state information system management system. The corresponding decision was adopted on July 16 at a meeting of the Armenian Government.

The system is a set of organizational, procedural, and technical mechanisms aimed at ensuring the availability of data processed in information systems within a secure digital environment.

The decision defines the procedure for servicing the state information system, the procedure for registering databases in the state information system, the role of state bodies in this process, as well as organizational requirements for creating a database.

The main goal of the decision is to provide a sufficient set of tools for managing the state information system, which will ensure transparency of the system’s activities, planning of its development, and monitoring compliance of databases, as well as transparent, balanced, and effective management and development of information systems in the public sector. It is noted that the adoption of the decision will contribute to the effective management of information systems in the country. By another government decision, a data classification system was created.

It also provides for transitional periods, according to which the relevant bodies are obliged to bring their databases into compliance with the requirements within 6 months in order to register in the state information system management system.
