A Canadian citizen wanted to take a royal python out of the Netherlands after it was found in her bra before boarding a plane at Amsterdam Airport. This was reported on July 16 by the press service of the country’s Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).

“The Canadian woman was not frightened by the constrictor snake. In the end, she tried to bring a ball python (another name for this reptile species. — Ed.) on board the plane in her bra. The protected snake was discovered during the inspection,” the agency said in its Instagram post.

The tourist explained that she had allegedly found the reptile right in her hotel, but this version raised suspicions among inspectors, who drew up a report and confiscated the animal. The snake is now being kept in a special shelter.

NVWA reminded that protected animals cannot be taken out of the country “just like that.”
