The deployment by Japan of U.S. Typhon systems on its territory poses a direct threat to Russia’s Far Eastern frontiers. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said this in an interview with TASS.

He noted that Russia is "closely monitoring the Japanese side’s efforts to expand military activity."

"We view Tokyo’s provision of its territory for the deployment of U.S. intermediate- and shorter-range missile systems, regardless of the duration of their stationing (whether temporary, rotational, or permanent), as a step that has a serious negative impact on the stability and security of the Asia-Pacific region and creates a direct threat to Russia’s Far Eastern frontiers," Rudenko emphasized.

In this connection, the Russian deputy foreign minister pointed out that Moscow had "repeatedly, in various formats provided for by diplomatic practice, warned the Japanese side against such destructive decisions."
