The Mother Armenia party has announced that Andranik Tevanyan, the party's leader, experienced a sharp deterioration in his health during a medical examination on the morning of July 20 while being held at the Yerevan-Kentron Penitentiary.
According to the party's statement, Tevanyan's blood pressure dropped sharply.
Prison officials initially decided to call an ambulance because Tevanyan was allegedly in a life-threatening condition. However, they later reversed that decision, saying his condition was gradually improving and that he was no longer in danger.
The party emphasized that before his detention, Tevanyan had never suffered from blood pressure problems or any other serious health issues.
According to the statement, his condition has since stabilized, he is feeling satisfactory, and he remains under the supervision of the penitentiary's medical staff.
