The number of wounded U.S. service members during U.S. military operations against Iran has risen to more than 500, the Associated Press reported, citing an informed source.

This exceeds the official Pentagon figures, according to which 482 service members were wounded.

A day earlier, Pentagon press secretary Sean Parnell said that over the past two weeks, nearly 100 U.S. troops had sustained injuries of varying severity during U.S. military operations against Iran.

At this time, a total of 18 U.S. service members have been killed.
