U.S. President Donald Trump stated that any damage caused to commercial vessels, cargo, or related property will be compensated from Iranian assets frozen and controlled by the United States.

The American leader published the corresponding statement on the social network Truth Social.

"This statement serves as notice that from this moment forward, and until further instruction is given, all and any damage caused to ships, cargo, or anything related to them will be paid for from Iranian funds held and controlled by the United States. This damage could be very substantial, but nevertheless, this is a fair and justified step," Trump wrote.
