On July 23, Hamlet Dadayan (known as "Kolon"), a member of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union (YVU), freedom fighter, and vice-chairman of the YVU's Ajapnyak district branch, passed away unexpectedly. This was reported by the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union.

"Hamlet Dadayan devoted his life to defending the homeland. He took part in nearly all the combat operations waged in defense of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia, and after the 44-day war of 2020, he continued to serve selflessly within the ranks of the Yerkrapah battalion, remaining constantly involved in combat duty.

In the memory of his comrades-in-arms and fellow soldiers, he will remain a freedom fighter, commander, and friend who was wholly devoted to the homeland, honest, brave, courageous, and responsible, and who served the homeland selflessly. During a routine combat duty shift, while serving as commander of the Yerevan company and carrying out an inspection, he suffered a heart attack, lost control of his vehicle, and as a result ended up in a ravine.

The loss of Hamlet Dadayan is a heavy sorrow for his family, his comrades-in-arms, and all who knew him. On behalf of the YVU administration and the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, we express our deepest condolences to the family members and relatives of our comrade-in-arms Hamlet. His name and his service devoted to the homeland will remain in all of our memories. Glory to you, our comrade-in-arms."
