The preliminary investigation of the criminal case conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia confirmed that the acting head of the Transport Department of the Yerevan Municipality, using his official position contrary to the interests of the service for personal gain, caused substantial damage to the rights and lawful interests of an LLC. This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

In particular, the preliminary investigation revealed that the aforementioned company had been declared the winner of a tender announced by the Yerevan Municipality for the installation of road signs, and a corresponding contract was concluded between the parties.

However, aiming to act in favor of another LLC connected to him, the municipal official demanded that the tender-winning company provide a 10-year bank guarantee under terms not stipulated by the contract. Subsequently, ignoring the prohibition against initiating a new procurement process while the legality of the aforementioned demand was being challenged in court, the official initiated a new procurement procedure. As a result, the company linked to him was selected as the winner, and a contract worth 75 million drams was signed.

The municipal official was charged, and his powers were suspended. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case has been completed, and the case files, along with the indictment, have been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Court.
