Samvel Karapetyan has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court against the Corruption Prevention Commission (CPC), challenging the latter's decision. This was reported by Pastinfo.

As a reminder, the CPC fined Samvel Karapetyan, chairman of the "Strong Armenia" party who is currently under house arrest, 200,000 drams for failing to submit a declaration of assets and income as of the date he assumed the duties of party chairman.

"By Commission Decision No. VIV/104/2026 of July 13, 2026, for failing to submit, within 30 days after the deadline established by the law 'On Public Service' and on the basis of the Commission's written notice, the declaration of assets and income as of the date of assuming, in 2026, the official duties of a member of a party's permanently functioning governing body as provided for by the constitutional law 'On Parties' (or, in the case of another governing body, a member of that body), an administrative penalty in the amount of two hundred times the minimum wage — 200,000 AMD — has been applied to Samvel Sargsi Karapetyan," the CPC's decision states.

It should be noted that Samvel Karapetyan has, up to this point, been under house arrest, and at the time he assumed the duties of party chairman — in February 2026 — the scope of his contacts had been restricted by a court decision.

Apparently, Karapetyan is challenging the aforementioned CPC decision through the courts. The lawsuit has been assigned to Judge Mher Petrosyan. At this time, there is no information regarding whether the lawsuit has been accepted for proceedings.
