A phone call took place between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The two exchanged views on the agenda of Armenia-Russia relations, in particular regarding problems that have arisen in bilateral economic relations.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized that restrictions on the export of Armenian-origin goods to the Russian market contradict the Armenia-Russia legal-treaty framework and the regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, and requested that measures be taken to resolve these issues.

Regarding the holding of a referendum in Armenia on the question of joining the European Union — as mentioned in the joint statement adopted by the leaders of the four EAEU member states on May 29 of this year — Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized that holding such a referendum would practically be possible only after Armenia sends an official application to join the EU and makes the topic a substantive matter.

At the same time, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the Government of the Republic of Armenia's readiness to resolve the aforementioned issues through open, partnership-based, and friendly dialogue.
