Back at the beginning of the year, taking into account the fact that the public is using food delivery services more frequently, and in response to the concerning number of complaints and alerts received from citizens, the Food Safety Inspection Body notified delivery-operating organizations that it would begin large-scale oversight in this field. This was reported by the inspection body.

It had been specified that delivery personnel who had not undergone initial and periodic medical examinations and who lacked a sanitary (medical) booklet would bear administrative liability; it is the employer's responsibility to ensure that employees who have direct contact with food during the stages of food production and circulation undergo medical examinations in cases established by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.

During a meeting organized with partner delivery organizations, they requested a deadline to complete the entire process of medical examination and obtaining sanitary (medical) booklets for their delivery personnel (2-3 thousand people).

In response to this request, the inspection body set a reasonable deadline.

Starting August 1, 2026, the Food Safety Inspection Body will fully exercise its designated oversight function with respect to delivery operators.

In this case, not only violations will be published, but also the names of partner organizations that have conscientiously fulfilled the requirements of the law.

Notice: Personnel involved at any stage of the food chain (production, processing, reprocessing, distribution, storage, preservation, transportation, import, export, and sale) must undergo initial (upon hiring) and periodic (every six months) medical examinations and must have a personal sanitary (medical) booklet.
