Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Ali al-Zaidi, during his first official visit to Turkey, will discuss with the Turkish leadership issues related to investments, water resources, and the “Development Road” project, as well as measures to strengthen regional stability and expand economic and political cooperation between the two countries.

“Today we are arriving on an official visit to the Republic of Turkey at the invitation of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to strengthen the political and economic relations between the two countries,” al-Zaidi said on X.

According to him, Iraq and Turkey are bound by a shared history, geographical proximity, civilizational ties, and a broad range of common interests.

The Iraqi prime minister noted that the sides will also discuss a number of economic and security issues which, in his view, will help strengthen stability in the region and bring mutual benefit to the two peoples.
