Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said what key topics were discussed during the meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in the Oval Office of the White House.
According to Zelensky, the talks focused in particular on the possibility of producing interceptors for Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine, as well as on other initiatives that could help strengthen the country’s defense.
“We discussed with President Trump licenses for the production of interceptors for Patriot and some other ideas that could help,” Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian leader also stated the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to achieve peace. According to him, the teams of the two countries will continue coordinating the details of further cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zelensky expressed condolences to Trump over the death of Senator Lindsey Graham, calling him “a true friend of Ukraine.”
“I am grateful to the United States for its strong support,” Zelensky added, thanking the U.S. for supporting Ukraine.
