The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering introducing a $100,000 fee for foreign students who want to remain in the country and work after completing their studies, Bloomberg reports, citing a source familiar with the discussion of the initiative.

According to the agency’s source, such a measure could seriously affect holders of student visas, who are already facing a tightening of immigration policy.

A White House spokesperson said that no immediate changes to the rules are expected, but did not deny that the administration is indeed considering such a proposal.
