YEREVAN. – In line with the final results of Armenia’s National Assembly (NA) elections held on May 6, the Republican Party of Armenia will have the most number of proportional election (party, bloc list) seats at the Parliament, Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan announced during the CEC’s special session on Sunday.   

The proportional election NA mandates (seats) are distributed as follows:   

Republican Party of Armenia – 40 seats

Prosperous Armenia Party – 28 seats

Armenian National Congress – 7 seats

Heritage Party – 5 seats

ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party – 5 seats 

Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party – 5 seats

The CEC Chairman also noted that the Commission will soon present the MPs’ mandates and announce the day of the new NA’s first session.  

Also, Tigran Mukuchyan told news reporters that the elected MP candidates can renounce their parliamentary mandates prior to the first session.

And the person who gives up the mandate will be replaced by the next person in the given proportional election list.
