The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has asked US military analysts to come up with “creative and unconventional” ways to “punish” Iran, CNN reports.

“We are looking for new creative and unconventional ways to pressure and punish Iran,” an officer in CENTCOM’s intelligence branch wrote in a message sent to a broad group of military analysts, according to a source familiar with the message.

According to CNN, the crowdsourcing-style query, which military officials said was unusual over email, is one sign of the limited—and potentially unpalatable—options available to US President Donald Trump to force Iran into a deal on his terms..

And an interlocutor of Fox News stated that CENTCOM is ready to consider all new ideas. The military admits that the strategy on the issue of Iran needs to be reviewed.
