NEW YORK. – In an attempt to justify its unacceptable modus operandi as chairman at the May 10 session of the UN Security Council, during which the reports of the council’s committees dealing with antiterrorism matters were discussed, Azerbaijan disseminated yet another lie by way of the media, and suggested it did not violate  the Council procedures, Armenian Permanent Mission to the UN informs.    

The Mission notes that, on the morning of May 10 and in compliance with the Council procedures, the Armenian side demanded, in written and subsequently in verbal form, its right to address the session. In violation of the procedures, however, Azerbaijan denied this demand, and as a result the Armenian delegation petitioned to the Council members and stressed that the Azerbaijani chairmanship was in breach of the Council procedures.        

At first, the Council members explained, and then obligated Azerbaijan to adhere to the procedures and give the floor to Armenia’s representative.    

Even prior to ending its UN Security Council Chairmanship, Azerbaijan has already greatly disappointed the member countries, the UN Secretariat, and the media alike, Armenian Permanent Mission to the UN informs.
