President Vladimir Putin has signed a law expanding the list of administrative offenses for which foreigners face deportation from Russia, Kommersant reports.

Accordingly, deportation will be applied also for discrimination on the basis of nationality, religion and gender, for disobeying the request of a military or police officer while guarding the Russian border, for petty hooliganism, for violations during rallies, for blocking roads, for drug use, for propaganda of prohibited symbols, for discrediting the Russian armed forces, and for calls for sanctions.

A separate list includes violations of the rules for the activities of foreign agents and the state of emergency, as well as participation in the work of undesirable organizations.

Also, the new law increases fines for violating entry rules and illegal work: the minimum threshold has been increased from 2,000 to 4,000 rubles.

Violators will be prohibited from citing marital status or period of residence in Russia to avoid deportation.
