YEREVAN. – The string ensemble of Halmstad, Sweden, will perform Monday at Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Armenian Genocide Memorial. Halmstad Musical School Director Ulf Fembro informed this during a press conference on Monday, and added that the works by Armenian and other composers will be presented during the event. 

The Halmstad String Ensemble comprises 24 musicians between the ages of 14 and 19.

The Ensemble will also perform at Yerevan’s Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall and Tigranyan Musical School.

Speaking about the Armenian Genocide, Ulf Fembro noted that it is very bizarre for them, as a people, that Sweden has formally recognized the Genocide very late. 

“But we are happy that it was adopted by the state,” he said.
