Conceptually, we have already decided in the case of the Electric Networks of Armenia company. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at the Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government on Thursday.

According to him, the Electric Networks of Armenia will become state property, which will later be transferred to concession management.

Pashinyan added that there are other large enterprises in Armenia that should be returned to the state.

“As for manufacturing enterprises, I do not think that they should remain under the management of the government. They must definitely be privatized through transparent tenders with a state share,” the Armenian premier noted.

On November 17, 2025, the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia deprived the Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC—owned by the leader of the opposition Strong Armenia party, Samvel Karapetyan—of its license to distribute electricity. And later, Romanos Petrosyan, a member of the board of the ruling Civil Contract Party, was appointed as the company's interim director.
