YEREVAN. The Armenian law enforcement has solved the case of smuggling drugs into the country from Turkey.

The police officers detained, on May 10 at a capital city Yerevan intersection, a certain Mher on suspicion of illegal possession and usage of drugs. A heroine-like substance was found in and confiscated from his possession. According to Mher, he had purchased this substance from a certain Said for AMD 50,000 (approx. US$ 127), the Police Media Department informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.        

It was found out that this Said is actually Said K., who was detained at Armenia’s Bagratashen customs checkpoint on May 12. He had smuggled the heroin from Turkey into Armenia on April 5.    

Mher A. and Said K. are arrested, and the particulars are being ascertained. 

A criminal case is opened, and the investigation is in progress.
