Businessman, philanthropist, and opposition Strong Armenia movement leader Samvel Karapetyan has alluded to a secret process of consolidation of the country’s opposition.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Karapetyan said that everything was in active progress. “Don’t worry,” he added.

Karapetyan noted that he had proposed the Armenian opposition’s consolidating openly and live, but his opposition colleagues preferred to do it without unnecessary fuss. But did not elaborate on the specific phase of this process.

Responding to a question about the difference in the maps of Armenia depicted on the badges of the Armenian authorities and the opposition, Karapetyan assured that the incumbent authorities are not able to restore the borders of Armenia and return the country’s territories occupied by Azerbaijan.

“If they [i.e. the current Armenian authorities] can’t [do that], let them leave [power], [and] we will go and bring back our territories,” Karapetyan added.

Commenting on the sharp decline in Armenia’s trade with Russia, Samvel Karapetyan noted that this is “the success of the incompetent authorities of Armenia” in making Armenian farmers even poorer.

As for his foreign citizenships, Karapetyan suggested asking this question when he is released from house arrest.

And in response to a question about the Armenian authorities’ accusations about making surcharges to the electricity bills of kindergartens and the army of Armenia, Karapetyan noted that officials are repeating the words of their leader, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, but they do not have any evidence.

“Under Pashinyan, $8.5 billion was wasted. Now what? Let’s say he ‘ate’ it? Although, perhaps he had a share,” Samvel Karapetyan noted.
