YEREVAN. – The first-ever textbook on the Azerbaijani language is published in Armenia. The textbook is guaranteed by the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Yerevan State University (YSU).

The textbook has an academic level and it meets the university textbook standards, the Faculty’s Deputy Dean, turkologist Ruben Melkonyan assured, and stressed that especially turkologists and History Faculty students must use this textbook.

The Azerbaijani language textbook’s author Lilit Movsisyan assured that the textbook is very neutral and fairly immersed in terms of teaching the language.

In the case when Armenology in Azerbaijan is highly politicized and propagandistic, the Azerbaijanology being established in Armenia is more scientific and academic.

To note, the courses of Azerbaijani language, key issues of the history of Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijani literature are taught at the YSU for over four years.

The textbook’s publication was sponsored by Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] Bank.
