Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with the republic’s supreme leader, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, in connection with the start of the third year of his presidency, Mehr reports.

During the meeting, the sides discussed in detail the domestic situation and the country’s main problems, in particular issues related to meeting the population’s needs and improving living standards.

Special attention was paid to the current situation in wartime conditions and the prospects for its development, as well as developments in the military sphere.

Pezeshkian and Khamenei also reviewed issues related to securing necessary resources and managing expenditures in areas connected with the national currency, foreign exchange, and energy, as well as Iran’s economic cooperation with other countries.

Pezeshkian took office as president on July 28, 2024. During the first two years of his presidency, mass unrest occurred in Iran, which Tehran links to foreign interference. In addition, the United States and Israel attacked Iran twice during that period.
