The Iranian parliament has approved the main plan for strategic actions to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz, ISNA reports.

Earlier, a member of the Iranian parliament's chairmanship announced that the plan envisages banning ships of the US, Israel and other hostile countries, as well as all ships associated with Israel, from passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The ban also applies to ships and cargoes participating in operations against the Resistance Front.

In addition, countries and individuals that have caused harm to Iran will be denied permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf until compensation is paid.

The plan also provides for large fines for violators, including a fine of up to 20% of the value of the cargo.
