The underground shaking’s hypocenter was 14 kilometers beneath the surface, and there are no reports on any casualties or devastation, Kavkazskiy Uzel informs.
The seismic activity continues in Azerbaijan’s Zaqatala Region for over a week. The first—and most powerful—earthquake was registered in the morning of May 7, and it was followed by more than a dozen aftershocks.
As a result of these tremors, around one-thousand buildings were destroyed and, according to preliminary data, approximately four-hundred families were left homeless.
