The visits of Azerbaijani specialists to Armenia took place within the framework of previously announced working meetings on power lines and railways, the Armenian side is conducting bilateral work on communications issues, and in the future does not rule out trade partnership with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at Thursday’s press briefing.

According to him, the details of the bilateral meetings on September 5, 2025 and January 15, 2026 were officially published in the press, and the specialists discussed the laying of power lines, pipelines and cables, as well as the restoration of railway communications.

“We are working on these topics, bilateral work is underway. And as for the energy sector, the growing demand for Armenia’s artificial intelligence factories may require additional amount of electricity. So, Armenia can both export and import electricity, including in cooperation with Azerbaijan and Turkey,” the Armenian premier noted.

Pashinyan added that Armenia’s strategic goal remains to achieve full energy independence through the development of solar generation and storage plants, but this does not exclude the country’s participation in international energy trade.
