Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan discussed the conditions for resumption of Armenian agricultural product supplies to the Russian market, Interfax reports.

The meeting took place within the framework of the seventh meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union's Council for Agro-Industrial Policy in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The main condition for the restoration of Armenian supplies to Russia is ensuring product safety and compliance with mandatory Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) requirements, reports the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

The Russian ministry added that it is necessary for Armenian producers to use “their own raw materials, oversee the use of pesticides, and ensure the traceability of supplies.”

Lut called the compliance of products entering Russia with EAEU veterinary and phytosanitary standards an “unconditional priority.” The Russian side also stated the need to “fully comply with the current requirements and develop an algorithm to ensure the safety of the supplied products.”
