YEREVAN. – Exchange rate of the Armenian national currency, the dram (AMD), has entered the sharp fluctuation phase, and the current stock exchange trading is a proof of this.    

The US dollar’s average exchange rate against the dram comprised AMD 397.53/$1, at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Tuesday, and this is a 0.39-percent—or an AMD 1.53—rise from the previous trading session on Monday.

The dollar gained value by over AMD 2 in the last two trading session, and this is a record pace over the course of the past 2.5 years.  

The total sales were $2.8 million.

Some banks already buy the dollar at AMD 397/$1, in Armenia’s cash foreign currency market, and the minimum selling exchange rate is AMD 399/$1.
