China has condemned Japanese officials' donation and visit to the Yasukuni Shrine, CGTN reports.

Jiang Bin, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, called the cash donations and visits to the Yasukuni Shrine by senior Japanese politicians a challenge to the "postwar international order" and an insult to the memory of the victims of militarism.

Jiang made the statement in response to media reports that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and  Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi had paid tribute to convicted war criminals on the anniversary of Japan's surrender.

China's MoD spokesperson warned that if Japan persists in advancing "neo-militarism" and becomes a source of danger and instability to regional peace, it will once again face the judgment of justice and the reckoning of history.
