Due to the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia’s capital Yerevan in the fall, classes will not be held in Yerevan’s schools during the week of this event, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Instead, starting from September 15, schools in the Armenian capital will operate on a six-day schedule for five weeks.

As a result, schoolchildren in Yerevan will have a two-week fall vacation in October instead of one week.

COP17 will be held in Yerevan from October 19 to 30.
