About 680 tons of fuel have already been delivered from Georgia to Abkhazia, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced, Georgia Online reports. According to him, this amount is fully sufficient to overcome the humanitarian crisis caused by the fuel shortage in the region.

Kobakhidze added that an additional batch is planned to be sent in the coming days, which, he expects, will finally solve the problem. Also, the premier dismissed speculation that these Georgian supplies could be used to provide fuel to Russian military infrastructure located in Abkhazia.

In his assessment, the amount sent is too small to be of any significant importance for Russia. "Military bases are permanent, stationary facilities and have their own fuel reserves," Kobakhidze said, calling the speculation about using these supplies for Russian military needs "absolutely frivolous."
