Iran rejected as "completely baseless" a United Arab Emirates (UAE) claim that missiles were fired from Iranian territory toward the Emirates, saying the accusation ran counter to good neighborliness policy and efforts to build regional trust, Mehr reports.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei rejected UAE claims over missile fire on Wednesday, urging regional parties to avoid unfounded accusations given the "continued mischief" of the US and Israel and a history of “false-flag operations.”

He expressed regret over the accusation and called on all regional parties to avoid unfounded claims against Iran.

Baghaei said such accusations harmed ongoing efforts to prevent the escalation of insecurity in the region and to strengthen confidence between regional states.
