MOSCOW. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan participated in the unofficial summit of the heads of the CIS member-states on Tuesday.
The CIS member states’ heads welcomed Russia’s President-Elect Vladimir Putin, who called the CIS states the main strategic partners for Russia. In addition, the member-states cannot effectively develop and function alone. Among the main aspects of cooperation, Vladimir Putin mentioned issues on social-economic development, strengthening the humanitarian ties and cooperation in international arena, Dni.ru reports. According to him, the CIS states maintain close economic, inter-regional and cultural relations.
