China has launched a Zhuque-3 reusable rocket and made its first return to land, CGTN reports.

The rocket lifted off from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone in northwest China on Wednesday morning.

The land recovery sequence of the first stage was completed, a first for China.

At the same time, in July, the first stage of the Chang Zheng (Long March) 10B rocket was successfully returned to sea using a network system.

The first stage of the Zhuque-3 is equipped with retractable landing gear, which enables the stage to land vertically and be reused. According to experts, such a system enables for cheaper launches and meets the requirements of China's commercial space programs.
