YEREVAN. – Aram Safaryan, who was fourteenth in the Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP) proportional election list, does not wish to comment on his reasons for submitting a petition for withdrawal from his parliamentary mandate, which he had received as a result of the May 6 National Assembly elections.       

“I will not give any media comment until the Prosperous Armenia Party Political Council examines the future Parliament’s list, makeup, and, in general, the internal political positions,” Safaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.     

To note, PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan held a meeting with key Party members and, subsequently, several PAP members submitted withdrawal petitions and renounced their MP seats. They were Urban Development Minister Vardan Vardanyan, Health Minister Harutyun Kushkyan, Aram Safaryan, Tsarukyan’s spokesperson Khachik Galstyan, MP Ruben Gevorgyan, and former deputy Hripsime Avetisyan.
