YEREVAN. – Ex-principal of Yerevan State Linguistic University (YSLU) after Valery Bryusov Suren Zolyan filed a lawsuits against the decision made by Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan.

As the petitioner told Armenian News-NEWS.am, the first lawsuit was filed on 12 April to the Administrative Court but the later refused to hear the case. After that Suren Zolyan appealed to Armenia’s Court of Appeals.

The second lawsuit was sent to the Court of General Jurisdiction on May 3.

Suren Zolyan is not going to stop or to give up.

“I am interested in two issues: I want to recover justice and to implement the self-governance in universities. The activities of universities are a priori governed by the law, not by the orders of the Minister. By his actions, Ashotyan showed how much he does not care about the law and how he is guided by his own whims in making certain decisions. That’s a shame,” Suren Zolyan said.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, Yerevan State Linguistic University Principal Suren Zolyan was dismissed from his post recently under the order of Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan.
