The government of Armenia has redistributed 1,174,000,000 drams (about $3.2 million) to fulfill the obligations undertaken within the framework of the implementation of the North-South highway project, as well as for the alienation of land for respective construction work. The decision to that effect was made at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government.

These funds will be directed also to the alienation of land for construction, road construction, and reconstruction of road tunnels.

According to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, capital investments in 2018-2025 exceeded those of 1981-1985, which, as per the premier, was the most active period in Soviet Armenia.

Pashinyan reiterated that the indicator of housing construction also exceeded the data of 1985.

"After the collapse of the USSR, the people felt certain nostalgia for Soviet Armenia, including because roads, kindergartens, schools were not being built, but were being demolished. The people overcame that nostalgia, Armenia encourages them to look forward, not back," the Armenian prime minister concluded.
