The forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran have shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and strike drone over the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC press service reported Monday.

“A few minutes ago, an American long-range MQ-9 drone was shot down over the Strait of Hormuz by missiles from IRGC anti-aircraft fighters,” the IRGC stated, Fars news agency reported on Telegram.

It is noted that after that, the drone fell into the waters of the Persian Gulf.
