Russian President Vladimir Putin held several bilateral meetings with foreign leaders on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The main topics were bilateral relations and the international agenda, RIA Novosti reports. The key issues of the talk with Chinese president Xi Jinping were new economic projects and a visa-free regime. Today's meeting was the second face-to-face contact between both leaders this year.

As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov later reported, they discussed the full scope of trade and economic cooperation, as well as briefly exchanged views on key issues of the international agenda and touched upon the Ukrainian issue.

During the talk with the Indian prime minister, Putin thanked Narendra Modi for the personal attention he has paid to strengthening bilateral relations. For his part, Modi expressed confidence that the Russian president's visit to the BRICS summit will strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Also, the Indian premier supported the diplomatic efforts underway in the negotiations on Ukraine.
