Iran's armed forces have fired missiles at US military bases in Jordan, Mehr reports, posting footage of the missile launches. This came amid a new wave of military escalation between Tehran and Washington.

US forces on Tuesday, carried out strikes on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facilities in southern Iran. US Central Command said the targets were facilities linked to the IRGC's military activities, including missile and drone infrastructure. Washington called the operation a response to Iran's actions against shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and US military personnel in the region.

President Donald Trump said the US strikes were also in response to Iran's attempt to place naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz and a missile attack on a US military base in Jordan. He warned that if Tehran attacks again, the US would strike harder.

The Iranian side called the US action blind and desperate. IRGC announced the start of retaliatory actions and that the Iranian air defense system had shot down the 50th American MQ-9 drone.

At the same time, civilian casualties were reported in southern Iran. The deputy governor of Hormozgan Province said that two people were killed and 50 others were injured in the attack on a wedding ceremony in Kuhestak city. Authorities warned that the death toll could rise due to the critical condition of some of the injured.

Thus, Iran’s launch of missiles at American facilities in Jordan has become part of a direct exchange of blows between the two countries, which has once again escalated over the standoff in the Strait of Hormuz.
