Two tankers attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz without Iran’s permission have hit mines, causing a fire on board, informs the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran.
“A few hours ago, two tankers [in the Strait of Hormuz], which had disembarked their crews at the instigation of the US military and were handed over to American agents to pass through an illegal route, hit mines, exploded, stopped, and caught fire,” the statement said.
The IRGC added that the latest US strikes on southern Iran will in no way weaken the Islamic Republic’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
