The possible introduction of a visa regime by Armenia for Russian citizens will be a move directed not at Moscow, but at Yerevan itself, said the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Maria Zakharova.
“If Armenia suddenly imposes visas as well [for Russian nationals], it will impose them not against us [i.e. Russia], but against its own citizens,” Zakharova told reporters on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
She stressed that such a decision will also affect Russian citizens who have numerous relatives living in Armenia.
