There is a demand abroad for dried fruits from Armenia. Therefore, it is necessary to extend their export subsidies, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

According to him, Armenia is perceived as a country with high-quality dried fruits.

“Therefore, we need to expand support programs. This will enable us to increase the export of products with higher added value—moreover, throughout the year,” he added.

In turn, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan noted that in January-July 2026, dried fruit exports from Armenia increased by 151%, or 2.5 times, compared to the same period in 2025.

“In addition, according to one of the decisions adopted today, flower export subsidies will also be expanded,” the minister added.

Previously, they were 37 or 50 drams (about 13.5 cents US) per piece, depending on the country (EU countries, United Kingdom, and Switzerland - 50, and the rest of the countries - 37 drams). But now the subsidy will be 50 drams, regardless of the country. In addition, the subsidy for the procurement of peaches and figs by Armenia’s canneries will be extended for one month. The remaining subsidies will remain unchanged.

In general, the minister of economy added, since the beginning of June 2026, flowers have been exported from Armenia to 28 countries, fruits - to 24, and vegetables - to 16 countries.

“In January-July, brandy exports increased by 19% compared to the previous year, brandy spirits - by 12%, wine – dropped by 8%. Exports of juices decreased by 1%, canned goods (jams, preserves, tomato paste, etc.) increased by 18%, dried fruits increased by 151%; that is, 2.5 times. But the export of flowers decreased by 27%," said the economy minister of Armenia.
